Who We Are
Capuano Engineering Company (CEC) was established by Louis Jr. and his son Louis III in January of 2012 as a geothermal services company specializing in executing projects in geothermal resources around the world. Louis E. Capuano, Jr., worked in the geothermal industry starting in 1974 until his passing in November of 2025.
Louis E. Capuano Jr. and Louis Capuano III worked on all forms of geothermal development—from exploration to development projects—in enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) and traditional geothermal reservoirs. CEC added George Scheid full time in June of 2024 and CJ Triola in October of 2025 to keep up with the growing number of projects, as well as to bring more geothermal experience to an already great team.
Today, under Louis Capuano III, CEC continues to excel at providing project management, drilling plan development, drilling procedure development, materials, services, and technologies, as well as establishing cost control analysis. CEC has a proven history in performing resource testing and verification, filling the gap for full geothermal project execution.
What We Do
Capuano Engineering Company works with the client during the pre-drilling phase of the project. Services during this time include:
- Creating site development plans
- Creation of drilling programs and cost estimates
- Obtaining all geologic and geophysical information
- Drilling procedure creation
- Development of casing design
- Design of cement program
- Wellhead design
- Directional program creation as necessary
- Drilling fluids programs
- Bit & stabilizer programs
- Determination of specifications of required drilling rig
- Sourcing of appropriate drilling rig
- Well site design
- Acquisition of vendor quotes for all materials, equipment, and services required
- Development of cost estimate for each well
- Working with the client to obtain necessary financing
- Submitting all necessary paperwork with local, state, and federal agencies
CEC also provides the following services once drilling has commenced:
- 24/7 site supervision
- Coordination with all applicable government agencies for necessary tests and inspections
- Monitoring of daily drilling operations by CEC engineers
- Review and approval of all invoices from third-party vendors for services or equipment
- Complete production test of well
- Submission of final drilling, testing, and well completion reports to the client and appropriate government agencies
